Minneapolis snow emergency parking rules

During a snow emergency, the City plows streets in three passes, one per day, and parking rules follow the plows. Snow Emergency Routes come first, on Day 1. Day 2 and Day 3 rules depend on the side of the street: the even side has addresses ending in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8, the odd side has addresses ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9.

Between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., move your car from the odd side to the even side of streets that are not Snow Emergency Routes. Once a street is fully plowed, curb to curb, you can park on it again, even before the snow emergency ends.

Snow Emergency Routes have red Snow Emergency Route signs and blue street name signs; other streets have green or brown street name signs. To check a specific street, use the City's snow emergency parking map or call 311.
